The DataLink DL3500-DH+/DF1 is a low cost, compact alternative to Allen-Bradley's 1770-KF2. Also provides the same functionality as the 1784-P(KTX), 1784-PCMK or SST 5136-SD.The DataLink converts A-B DF1, (Modbus & ASCII also available) serial protocol to A-B DH+ network protocol providing a serial interface to DH+ for computers, modems and OEM equipment. Applications include PLC programming and graphical user interfaces (GUIs and MMIs) such as RSLINX, RSLOGIX, Wonderware, Kepare, Intellution, Citect, etc. The serial DF1 to DH+ conversion protocol available in the DL3500-DH+/DF1 is the same one available in the DL3000-KFX product. The DL3000's size, portability, and the choice between a freestanding and DIN rail model make it especially convenient for use in the office, the plant floor, or when travelling. The DataLink DL-PC/104 interface card provides PC/104 computers, MMIs, and OEM equipment with an inexpensive, high speed interface to Allen Bradley's Data Highway Plus or Remote I/O (Adapter).

The DL-PC/104 interfaces to a PC/104 CPU's bus using the same "Z182" COM port emulator as an internal modem. The DL buffers PC/104 bus data bytes in RAM memory, converts it to synchronous serial data, and then transmits to the A-B network at full speed.

DL's interface to ISA bus using the same COM port emulator as an internal modem card. The built-in COM port front-end buffers the byte data in RAM memory, converts it to serial and then transmits it directly to DH+ or RIO at full network speeds.

The DL's built-in CPU, RAM, and operating firmware in socketted EPROM frees-up valuable computer memory and system resources for use by the application. This unique approach enables ISA bus computers to connect to A-B networks at high speeds using standad communications software. The actual system throughput will depend on CPU, clock speed, application software, A-B network speed and traffic etc.

The DL enables existing A-B DF1 serial drivers, ie. drivers for PLC Channel 0, 1770-KF2 or 1785-KE, to be used with Operating Systems including DOS, Unix & Windows, in applications such as Operator Interfaces, PLC Programming, SCADA and Data Acquisition.

In adapter mode the DL can be configured for 1 to 8 (virtual) racks. A computer can read all the I/O image data on RIO, write a maximum 1024 bits and read/write 64 data blocks of up to 64 words each.
